Culture programme in implementation phase

As CHDR continues to grow, fostering a strong and cohesive organisational culture has become a key priority. In response, a comprehensive culture program was launched in 2023 to align values, improve communication, and strengthen collaboration across the organisation. The program was further developed in 2024 and will be implemented in 2025.

‘We started from the report made last year by an organisation-wide culture committee,’ says Christine van Andel, HR Director at CHDR. 'A core team then reviewed the recommendations and set priorities.’ Four themes emerged that we chose to focus on: Feedback & ownership, Core values & diversity, Communication, and Leadership.' These themes were developed further by dedicated working groups and presented to the Executive Board at the end of the year. In 2025, the Board will determine which priorities and actions to take forward.

'There’s a lot of enthusiasm for this program, and the Board responded very positively,'van Andel adds. 'It gives employees a real opportunity to contribute to CHDR as a whole. As the organisation has grown rapidly in recent years, it’s more important than ever to stay aligned.'

She concludes, 'We need each other to fulfil our mission of developing people, methods, and drugs. And just as importantly, we need each other to enjoy our work.'
